a catch up...

unfortunately everything's been so busy at the minute that i've either not had time to paint my nails or not had time to take photos. or i've completely forgotten to take photos of them...
excuses over, here's a quick photo summary of some of the nails i've done since the last update!

for the last one i used OPI's moon over mumbai for the main colour, and barry m's pink nail art pen.
i promise to update more!

flowers and beads...

this week i decided to use some pearl flowers motifs, and some small blue sequin effect pearl beads that i have. the base colour is black on black by sinfulcolors.

i'm unsure what i think about it really, the quality isn't very good, you have to have about three coats to get it to be a decent black, otherwise it just looks like navy! and it's a very thin liquid aswell, not much coverage. but i do like the overall effect!

i've bought alot more nail art supplies recently as a treat to myself, so there'll be some more interesting things coming along shortly!

cat attack...

i bought this amazing nail art wheel from topshop the other week and finally got the chance to use it last night! it has a variety of gems in it, little sunflowers, hearts, purple rain drops (prince reference, anyone?) and some little cats.

i decided to go all cat-lady chic will some gel, polka dot nails, like so:

for the base colour i used barry m's gelly hi-shine polish in papaya, and for the polka dots i used barry m's matt white.

i'm really pleased with how they turned out! although after work today a few of them have lost some ears and one an eye, i think the rspca might be on to me after this...

stern and simple...

so yesterday i had an interview and two meetings so i wanted to go for a professional looking nail, but still a pretty one!

in the end i opted for bourjois paris' rouge diva ultra shine so laque! polish. it went on really well and had a nice deep colour after two coats. and the best thing is how perfectly it went with my royal blue dress.

getting in the summer mood...

i'm getting in the mood for summer now so decided to do some sunny-holiday nails.

i used maxfactor dazzling blue as the base coat, and then one gold stud for each nail from sparkly nails.

it has to begin somewhere...

i have worn nail polish every single day of my life since i was 14. it's become a weekly ritual for me on a sunday night to sit down and take minimum 30 minutes redoing my nails, it's like a nice little ridding-of-last-week, welcoming-the-next type thing! i do a mixture of just plain nails in a beautiful colour, versions of french manicures, and nail art.

i already have another blog (HERE) but that's more for fashion and various things i'm interested in from my daily life, but i always forget to post there or can't think of something decent to say on a subject! so i figured that i'd start a blog dedicated to my nails; i'll always have something to say about them since it's a part of my life routine now. the plan is to update this blog minimum once a week (sometimes i decide to change my nails half way through), posting my designs and what polishes i used. so let's start with the first one!

i used barry m cyan blue (026) for the base, and a barry m black nail art pen for the line work.

well that wasn't too hard, let's just hope i remember to keep it up!
